Manager , Software Development & Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Software Development Engineers in planning and designing software and web applications using Golang
• Design and implement microservices‑based systems, including RESTful APIs
• Leverage Go routines and Channels in Golang (or equivalent multithreading techniques) for concurrent processing
• Develop and maintain distributed systems and web applications using XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, and PostgreSQL
• Create and manage containerized applications using Docker and deploy and scale microservices with Kubernetes
• Manage projects from design through testing, including new programs, enhancements, and modifications
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to conduct functional and performance testing
• Develop and administer performance standards for the engineering unit
• Develop processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies and support budgeting
• Provide guidance to the Software Engineering team and other departments on product and technical requirements
• Serve as primary liaison between Software Engineering and other teams
• Direct implementation initiatives for new software products and applications, and manage release roll‑outs
• Ensure deliverables adhere to deadlines, specifications and budgets
• Implement performance metrics, prepare periodic reports and monitor project progress
• Ensure engineers stay current with technological developments and evaluate competitive applications and products
• Develop proposals for hardware/software changes and capital expenditure projects
• Conduct performance reviews for exempt and non‑exempt employees, and provide mentoring to junior engineers

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• Five (5) years of experience designing and implementing microservices‑based systems
• Three (3) years of design of RESTful APIs, distributed systems, Git version control, and software application development (XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, Postgre
  
  SQL)
• Two (2) years of experience developing software using Golang (or equivalent systems languages) and leveraging Go routines/Channels
• One (1) year of creating and managing containerized applications with Docker and deploying microservices with Kubernetes
