Night Warehouse Manager-Centennial, CO

The Manager, Warehouse will ensure a warehouse culture focused on people, safety, service, and cost through meaningful engagements with warehouse associates, best in-class service to customers, and safe and profitable operations. They will use their experience in warehouse operations to manage personnel and drive efficient warehouse operations through the associates they lead, ensuring the safe, accurate and timely receiving and storage of inbound product or selection and loading of outbound product.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Leading with a safety mindset that ensures that every US Foods associate remains injury free, always.
  • Overseeing and developing warehouse associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example.
  • Creating a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open and directing workforce to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Directing and supervising the work and productivity of associates within the warehouse department.
  • Participating in building high-performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel, in conjunction with Sr. Warehouse Managers.
  • Leading and directing associates to achieve accurate orders that are then staged and loaded on the trucks.
  • Monitoring operational information, such as "mis-picks" and productivity reports, to ensure the entire shift meets rates and follows preferred methods.
  • On day shift, designating dock locations for inbound carriers. Ensuring product is stocked in appropriate location in accordance with food safety and FIFO processes & procedures.
  • Maintaining physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, including preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment.
  • Working with operations management team to identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in development of an action plan.
  • Regularly inspecting facility for safety hazards and either resolving them or reporting them to the safety manager as appropriate.
  • Ensuring Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements are followed.
  • Effectively scheduling working shifts by leveraging appropriate planning tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel)
  • Other duties assigned by manager.

Union and/or non-union warehouse on-floor associates (Loaders, Selectors, Receivers, Forklift drivers, etc.) Relationships:

Warehouse leaders and coworkers;
Internal customers across departments (e.g., Sales) External: N/A Work Environment:
The work takes place in normal warehouse environments as well as in cooler and freezer areas where temperatures may be as low as
-5 degrees.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
  • Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).
  • 10% travel required, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.

Preferred qualifications:

  • HACCP certification a plus.
  • PCQI certification a plus.

Physical qualifications:

  • Occasionally stand, walk, drive vehicle, sit.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push/pull, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel, bend, reach above shoulder, twist, grasp objects, manipulate objects, manual dexterity.
