The Senior Producer, Newsdesk is akin to a first alert system, elevating news from all corners. The producer monitors wire services, social media and speeches and works closely with all CNBC entities to make sure that all time sensitive material is shared and broadcast as necessary. The role involves working closely with the News Desk Editors, the Breaking News Desk, the Markets team, show producers and the digital news team at all times to ensure coordination and headline sharing between news gathering groups.

Additionally, the producer will work closely on special projects and network initiatives. The producer will also manage the clipdesk and work to elevate on air moments on all platforms.

• Utilize wire services, financial services and social media to mine headlines; work with reporting teams, breaking news and editors to elevate news
• Communicate in a timely and clear manner across platforms, sharing TV news with digital and vice versa.
• Work closely with clip desk to identify the best sound on air and share with relevant teams for coverage or production
• Cultivate and incentivize teams for special projects and network initiatives; bringing together many parts of the organization into project-based groups

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $170,000-$200,000.

What you ll bring:

• In-depth knowledge of CNBC’s content and subject material and a strong interest in financial markets, economics, technology and politics
• Previous experience in business news; knowledge of wire services and financial statements
• Understanding of global financial markets and how events in different economies and markets affect each other
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced news environment
• Ability to work as part of a team and across all departments and locations
• Excellent verbal communication skills, coupled with strong research and succinct writing skills
• Demonstrated self-starter, with the confidence to make decisions quickly in a fast-paced news environment
• Flexibility in hours

• Experience in reading financial statements, wire copy Knowledge of Fact Set, iNews, Slack
