The Board of Education is seeking applications for the following position:
Teacher of ELA, 7th Grade, at Janis
E. Dismus Middle School
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate for Early Childhood Education PreK-Grade 3, Elementary Education K-6, Reading Teacher, and/or Reading Specialist
- Demonstrate knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessments and diagnosis, and research related to learning
- Comprehensive knowledge of the content field when holding a content specific teaching responsibility on the elementary level
- Demonstrate the ability to use student information systems, virtual communication and instruction, and electronic assessment
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community.
