Overview
Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Patient Service Coordinator.

Salary Range: $18.29 - $24.00 per hour. - Schedules new patients and return appointments in the computer system in accordance with physician/office guidelines. Cancels/reschedules appointments according to physician schedule changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel.
- Obtains and enters all authorizations and correspondence relating to referrals in patient charts and the computer.
- Schedules outpatient appointments/testing and hospital admissions upon request.
- Obtains necessary pre‑certification as required. Handles new patient referrals, gathers necessary information, assigns the patient account number, and schedules appointments.
- Collects co‑pays, deductible and other out‑of‑pocket amounts at the time of visit. Maintains the primary office scheduling book containing all physician meetings, satellite schedule, rounding and call coverage.
- Handles incoming phone calls from patients needing to schedule or reschedule appointments.
- Provides patients with accurate and legible appointment cards. Documents no shows in patient’s chart for missed visits. Follows up with patient to reschedule any missed appointments. Arranges for patients to have financial counseling as needed.
- Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
- Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
- Completely covers for other front office functions as requested.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Position requires at least 3 years of office experience, medical office experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with computer systems required;
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) a plus.
Requires sitting for long periods of time; stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Requires manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination for computer work. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range for telephone contacts.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in‑person interaction with co‑workers, management and clients. Minimal travel by automobile to office sites may be required.
Background Check & VaccinationsAll qualified candidates are required to pass a background check and a non‑federal drug test (excluding marijuana) post‑offer and prior to hire.
