We are seeking an Operations Specialist to support purchasing, sourcing, logistics, and day-to-day operational activities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, proactive, comfortable taking initiative, and able to respond quickly when supply or product-related issues arise. This role requires someone who can understand the broader picture, work with technical product specifications, and help identify practical solutions to operational challenges.

Position

Responsibilities Supply & Operations Management
  • Coordinate purchasing, sourcing, logistics, and operational activities to ensure timely product availability.
  • Monitor supply requirements and proactively address potential shortages, delays, or disruptions.
  • Research suppliers, markets, and alternative sourcing options when needed.
  • Support forecasting and planning activities related to product availability and demand.
  • Help evaluate options and develop solutions when supply, pricing, or availability changes.
Supplier & Vendor Coordination
  • Communicate directly with suppliers, vendors, and other external partners to resolve issues and maintain continuity of supply.
  • Follow up on orders, shipments, delivery schedules, and outstanding requirements.
  • Build productive relationships with suppliers and proactively identify opportunities or risks.
  • Take ownership of issues and ensure they are followed through to resolution.
Product & Technical Understanding
  • Develop a working understanding of product specifications, requirements, and factors affecting supply.
  • Review technical information and apply it when coordinating purchasing and operational activities.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to understand product needs and operational priorities.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
  • Investigate supply and operational challenges and recommend practical solutions.
  • Assess alternative suppliers, products, markets, or sourcing strategies when circumstances change.
  • Support process improvements that increase efficiency, reliability, and responsiveness.
  • Maintain a big-picture perspective while managing day-to-day operational details.
Prerequisites
  • Experience in operations, purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience working in an environment where product availability and timely delivery are critical.
  • Strong resourcefulness and a demonstrated sense of urgency.
  • Ability to independently investigate issues, make decisions, and follow through on solutions.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable communicating by phone and proactively reaching out to suppliers, vendors, and partners.
  • Ability to understand and work with product specifications and technical information.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with forecasting, market research, or global trade is a plus.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
  • Supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or operations-related certifications are preferred but not required.
  • APICS/ASCM certification or similar credentials would be an advantage.
