The Actors Fund Home
, an accredited assisted living, skilled nursing facility in Englewood, NJ, seeks a Full‑Time Registered Nurse Nursing Supervisor to join our nursing management team. Responsible for supervising, planning, organizing, implementing, directing, and evaluating the day‑to‑day nursing activities of the Assisted Living unit. Supervision includes maintaining 24‑hour service coverage in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility and as may be required by the Director of Nursing to ensure the highest degree of quality care.

Job Duties
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in directing day‑to‑day functions of the Assisted Living nursing department in accordance with current rules and regulations from the New Jersey Department of Health and Actors Fund policies and procedures.
  • Staff the facility with sufficient Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Registered Nurses (RN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Certified Medication Aides (CMA) and Home Health Aides (HHA) to meet each resident’s nursing needs; schedule, payroll, and staff may work as a patient‑care RN if needed.
  • Participate in the development, revision, and implementation of nursing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance; complete medical forms, audits, reports, evaluations, charting, incident reviews, investigations, medication cart checks, and other nursing issues as designated by the DON.
  • Assist the DON in the care‑planning process, including planning, scheduling, and documentation; review resident care plans for appropriate goals, problems, interventions, and revisions based on nursing needs; assist with MDS 3.0 forms.
  • Investigate incidents and/or accidents thoroughly, in a timely manner, with comprehensive documentation and a complete summary.
  • Ensure the Nurse Call Alert System is answered promptly; monitor via cordless phones and digital displays; confirm that all CNAs carry their phones and tags and that alerts are cleared by nursing staff; monitor response times.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations and administer disciplinary action fairly.
  • Maintain and monitor all electronic charting for accuracy.
  • Float to other units as Nursing Supervisor on duty when required.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance programs and other initiatives to maintain highest quality care.
  • Acquire competence in the Comfort Matters competencies for person‑centered care with residents with dementia.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.
  • Oversee RNs, LPNs, CMAs, CNAs, and HHAs working on the unit.
  • Monitor economic conditions and recommend adjustments in nursing services to the DON to maintain quality of care.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid New Jersey state Registered Nursing license.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Nursing Supervisor in an assisted‑living facility, and additional experience in a long‑term care or related health‑care facility.
  • Pass the facility’s physical examination upon employment and annually thereafter.
  • Competent in supervision and leadership; able to work cooperatively with other staff.
  • Strong leadership qualities promoting teamwork, professionalism, and dedication.
  • Adaptable to change; able to handle crisis and emergencies, work under pressure with interruptions.
  • Tactful and courteous with residents, families, practitioners, and others.
  • Capable of lifting, moving, and carrying supplies and equipment; essential duties performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Affinity for and desire to work with the aging population.
  • Effective oral and written communication with residents, families, co‑workers, professionals, and the public.
  • Willingness to work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of electronic charting, EMAR, and ETAR is a plus.
About This Position

Full‑time exempt position based in Englewood, NJ. Working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; evening weekend shift 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Nursing Supervisor covers assigned shifts, including holidays, and may cover vacations or call‑outs of other supervisors and/or the DON. Salary range: $100,000–$110,000.
