Job Description & How to Apply Below
ICR's Regenerative Immunology program is focused on regenerating the aging immune system, the decline of which underlies many of the most devastating age-related diseases. We're hiring a Principal Scientist to lead our Thymic Regeneration Team to restore thymic function and rejuvenate adaptive immunity. You'll need a deep background in immunology, thymic biology and iPSCs.
With ICR, you'll get to:- Lead a cutting-edge team developing iPSC-derived thymic epithelial cells (iTECs) and thymic organoids to rejuvenate the aging immune system
- Contribute highly practical and readily translatable thymic regeneration, immune reconstitution and rejuvenative medicine ideas
- Design and optimize directed-differentiation protocols to generate functional, TECs from human iPSCs
- Collaborate with other ICR scientists and groups to advance immune rejuvenation under a personalized medicine paradigm
- A PhD or MD/PhD
- At least 10 years of research experience, preferably in thymic biology, stem cell differentiation, organoid engineering or regenerative immunology
- Current and in-depth knowledge of thymic epithelial cell biology, iPSC directed differentiation, T-cell development and tissue engineering
- Expert knowledge in experimental therapeutics and the landscape of developmental pipelines of practical, actionable interventions to treat and prevent age-related immune senescence and achieve immune regeneration/rejuvenation
- Expert knowledge of thymic epithelial cell ontogeny, FOXN1 biology, T-cell selection and thymic niche reconstitution
- Experience with iPSC culture, directed differentiation, 3D organoid culture, single-cell genomics, RNAseq, flow cytometry, immunofluorescent microscopy, CRISPR gene editing and cell culture
- Experience with in vivo transplantation, humanized mouse models and assessment of functional immune reconstitution
- Even if you don't meet all of these criteria, please apply anyway
- A friendly, easygoing personality
- The ability to work in the United States without sponsorship
