Instructional Assistant (Credit Recovery & Other Duties)
General Description:
The Instructional Assistant monitors students and performs a variety of clerical and instructional support tasks relating to the operation of Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC). This person will perform in such a manner as to ensure the best education possible for the students of MVCTC. In particular, this individual will monitor students taking online courses for credit recovery and perform other duties which support the mission of the school.
Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation. Possess and maintain an Educational Aide or Student Monitor permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education once employed by MVCTC. Experience using a computer and/or aptitude for learning software applications. Possess above average arithmetic and grammar skills. Experience working with high school aged students and a genuine enjoyment of working with young adults.
Relate to high school students, parents, or guardians, and staff in a professional manner. Should be punctual and maintain regular attendance; dress professionally; exhibit a professional attitude; demonstrate ability to take initiative; and be reliable and honest. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
