Location: Greater Dayton, OH
Schedule: Full-time, day shift M-F (+ on call hours)

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support a chemical manufacturing facility in Dayton, OH. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will be a multi-skilled maintenance professional with experience in mechanical systems, pumps, welding, basic electrical work, and pipe fitting within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and instrumentation systems.
- Inspect equipment for wear, leaks, hazards, and conditions requiring repair or shutdown.
- Read and interpret SOPs, diagrams, manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Repair and maintain pumps, rotating equipment, piping systems, and associated components.
- Conduct equipment inspections and document maintenance activities.
- Work closely with operations, production, and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance needs.
- Obtain and comply with safe work permits for maintenance and project activities.
- Recommend improvements to preventative maintenance programs to increase equipment reliability and uptime.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in safety initiatives and maintain compliance with all environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Support hazardous waste collection, labeling, and storage activities when necessary.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations and support plant operations as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing plant strongly preferred.
- Multi-skilled maintenance background including:
- Pump repair and alignment
- Welding and fabrication
- Basic electrical troubleshooting
- Pipe fitting
- Rotating equipment maintenance
- Preventative and predictive maintenance
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical procedures.
- Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, ASME, API, and related mechanical inspection standards.
- Experience working with preventative maintenance programs and CMMS systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Hands-on industrial maintenance professional with experience supporting manufacturing operations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment efficiently.
- Safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable working in a team-oriented chemical plant environment.
- Flexible to support overtime and emergency call-ins when required.
