American Traveler is hiring a Step Down RN with EPIC experience and telemetry strip interpretation skills for a night shift assignment.
Details- Work in a 39-bed Step Down unit combining telemetry and surgical patient populations
- Typical patient ratio is 1:4 to 1:5
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- Required to work every other weekend and holiday
- Floating required to Main Campus (Dayton), South Campus (Centerville), and North Campus (Englewood)
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Active OH RN license or compact license required
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
- IV Start and Telemetry certifications required
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
- Knowledge of cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and feeding tube management
- No candidates with past license disciplinary action will be accepted
- Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
- Provide direct nursing care to telemetry and surgical Step Down patients
- Maximum RTO of 14 days allowed per contract, with no negotiation after an offer is made
- References are not required for consideration
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius, as local candidates are not accepted
- Any previous perm/PRN staff or agency employee not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before applying as a traveler and obtain facility rehire approval
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
