Position Overview The Construction Foreman is responsible for leading and executing daily field operations at the crew level to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project plans, schedule, and quality standards. This role provides direct oversight of assigned crews, coordinating labor, equipment, and materials to meet daily production goals and support overall project performance. The Foreman serves as the primary link between field execution and the Superintendent, translating project plans into clear, actionable direction for the crew while maintaining accountability for productivity, workmanship, and safety.
This position requires strong, hands-on leadership, consistent field presence, and the ability to make real-time decisions that keep work progressing and aligned with project objectives. Success in this role is measured by crew performance, adherence to safety standards, quality of work, and the ability to consistently deliver planned production targets while supporting overall cost and schedule objectives.
Key Responsibilities Crew Oversight & Daily Execution
• Lead and supervise assigned crew members, including Operators and Laborers
• Execute daily work plans in alignment with direction from the Superintendent and overall project objectives
• Coordinate labor, equipment, and workflow to maximize productivity and minimize downtime
• Maintain accountability for achieving daily production targets and meeting performance expectations
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards
Field Leadership & Communication
• Serve as the primary point of communication between field crews and the Superintendent
• Clearly communicate daily expectations, scope, and production goals to crew members
• Provide timely, accurate updates on progress, issues, and resource needs
• Identify and escalate risks or constraints early to prevent delays or rework
• Promote and reinforce Blue Sage Services culture by modeling company values, maintaining professionalism, and fostering accountability and teamwork at the crew level
Safety Execution
• Lead daily safety planning, including JSAs and pre-task meetings
• Enforce all company safety policies and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accountability for safe work practices across the crew
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately
• Reinforce a culture where safety is owned and executed at the crew level
Quality & Workmanship
• Ensure all work meets project specifications, grade requirements, and company quality standards
• Verify accuracy and completeness of work before progressing to the next phase
• Prevent rework through attention to detail and proper execution
• Support inspection readiness and punch list completion
Equipment & Resource Management
• Oversee proper use, care, and operation of assigned equipment
• Coordinate equipment needs with the Superintendent
• Ensure materials are staged, handled, and used efficiently to support workflow
• Report equipment issues and maintenance needs promptly
Timekeeping & Reporting Accountability
• Accurately track and report daily labor, equipment hours, and production quantities
• Review and submit crew timesheets with a high level of accuracy and accountability
• Ensure all time and production are coded correctly to the appropriate cost codes
• Support project cost tracking by providing reliable and timely field data
• Communicate discrepancies or concerns immediately to the Superintendent General Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate daily logs including crew time, production, and job activities
• Support training and development of crew members through hands-on leadership
• Maintain a clean, organized, professional jobsite
• Support company initiatives related to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• Perform additional duties as needed to support project success
