Salary Range: $11.00 To $13.00 Hourly

About the Role

The Host plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive first impression for guests at our establishment. This position is responsible for managing guest flow, coordinating seating arrangements, and ensuring that each visitor feels valued and attended to from the moment they arrive. The Host acts as a liaison between guests and the service team, facilitating smooth communication and efficient service delivery.

By maintaining an organized and friendly environment, the Host contributes significantly to the overall guest experience and satisfaction. Ultimately, the Host helps to foster a warm atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and positive word‑of‑mouth recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and manage a fast‑paced environment.
  • Basic proficiency with reservation and point‑of‑sale systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working as a host or in a similar front‑of‑house position in the hospitality industry.
  • Familiarity with multiple reservation management software platforms.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of local dining trends and customer service best practices.
Responsibilities
  • Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival, providing a warm and professional welcome.
  • Manage reservations and walk‑in guest seating to optimize table turnover and minimize wait times.
  • Maintain an organized waitlist and communicate estimated wait times clearly to guests.
  • Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless service flow.
  • Answer phone calls to handle reservations, inquiries, and special requests efficiently.
  • Monitor the dining area to anticipate guest needs and address any concerns proactively.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up the host station and maintaining cleanliness.

The Host utilizes strong communication skills daily to engage with guests warmly and clearly convey information about wait times and seating arrangements. Organizational skills are essential for managing reservations, coordinating seating, and maintaining an efficient flow of guests throughout service hours.
