The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing preventive dental care and supporting overall patient oral health in a full-time, on-site role located in Enid, OK. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing dental cleanings, scaling and root planing, and other prophylactic procedures, as well as assessing patients for signs of periodontal disease and other oral health concerns. The role involves educating patients on proper hygiene techniques, diet, and home care routines, and documenting findings and treatment into patient records.
The Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with dentists and other team members to coordinate care plans, ensure infection control standards, and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment. Additional duties may include assisting with patient flow, supporting Hygiene assists, and participating in practice-wide quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong clinical skills in Dentistry, Dental Care, and Hygiene appropriate to a licensed dental hygienist.
- Proficiency in Dental Prophylaxis procedures, including scaling, polishing, and preventive treatments.
- Ability to assess, identify, and manage Periodontal Disease in collaboration with the dentist.
- Active state license as a Dental Hygienist in Oklahoma and current CPR certification.
Licensed and qualified to administer local anesthesia in the State of Oklahoma.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, and safety standards.
- Effective communication and patient education skills with a focus on empathy and clarity.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a dental team and manage a consistent patient schedule.
- Experience with dental practice management or charting software is preferred.
