Algorithm Engineer​/Data Scientist

Job Purpose

This role is a part of a team of engineers and scientists developing a novel intradermal biosensor technology. The position involves working with a cross‑functional team of scientists and engineers and is responsible for bench and clinical data analysis, algorithm development, and supporting planning, execution, and post‑clinical study activities.

• Algorithm development for Continuous Glucose Monitoring system and other analytes
• Develop signal processing algorithms for signal noise reduction and fault detection
• Analysis of data collected during the course of clinical trials to assess performance of Bioling sensors and help with root‑cause analyses
• Implement statistical analyses of data sets acquired in the clinical setting to assess safety, efficacy, and accuracy
• Process large datasets using state‑of‑the‑art methods
• Assist with preparation of reports or presentations to fulfil business or regulatory needs
• Other tasks as assigned

• Master’s degree and 8 years of experience required. PhD degree preferred.
• Scientific or Engineering discipline required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in signal processing, time series data analysis and algorithm development, preferably in a medical device setting.
• Experience with advanced data analysis tools and methods; demonstrated understanding of statistics and statistical analysis of data.
• Must be capable of supporting projects independently without supervision.
• Experience with advanced computing languages such as Python, R, or Matlab.
• Experience with machine learning and data mining methods.
• Ability to interface with both clinicians and R&D teams and work in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and communicate ideas clearly to the team; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment. The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this role is: $150,000 to $180,000 per year. Actual compensation packages are commensurate with experience and based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate.

The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
