- As a position directly affecting the safety of others, the employee will be required to comply with all provisions of City of Enid’s substance abuse policy, including random drug and alcohol testing.
- Possession of a valid Oklahoma driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
POSITION
PURPOSE:
To ensure the quality of water supply to Enid residents through efficient maintenance and repair of water treatment plants and water production system.
- Assist with monitoring operations of the treatment and collection systems to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well maintained.
- Ensures compliance with all D.E.Q. regulations through the completion of accurate operation reports which include water quality levels and records.
- Collect samples and perform accurate and reliable testing of water well samples using test equipment and color analysis standards.
- Provides laboratory analysis of water samples.
- Application of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) to sample analysis.
- Assists in process control analysis.
- Order necessary chemicals and supplies to run tests.
- Compile and interpret results of tests and analyses.
- Monitor water supply and pumping capacity.
- Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation, and monitoring expenditures.
- Prepare bid specifications.
- Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, and outside contractors.
- Provide assistance to other departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
- The Water Services division runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Procedures and processes are well maintained, documented, and recorded.
- Plants and water system operations meet all regulatory requirements.
- Policies and procedures in City of Enid personnel and safety manuals are understood and followed.
- Effective working relations exist with City personnel and co-workers.
- Employee understands and adheres to applicable safety policies.
- The City’s professional reputation is maintained.
EDUCATION/
EXPERIENCE:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: Class D Water and Class C Water Lab License within 1 year. Continuing education as necessary to maintain licenses.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGEComputer: Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
Specialized: Knowledge of water lab testing processes. Understanding of water plant operations. Knowledge of D.E.Q. rules and regulations regarding treatment plant operations and testing procedures. Knowledge of SCADA system.
SKILLS/ABILITIES- Ability to use lab testing equipment.
- Proficient personal computer skills.
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Ability to assist and support others.
- Able to operate telephone, PC, copier, and other basic business machines.
FINGER DEXTERITY: Manual dexterity sufficient to work with the fingers.
VISUAL ABILITIES: Normal vision, with or without corrective lenses. Close vision, color vision, depth perception.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature. Occasional use of hands, arms, and fingers to reach and handle.
