Job Description

The Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data on potential and existing clients, including but not limited to completing spreads of financial statements, tax returns, payment history, loan data, financial ratios and credit reports.

Analyzing records and degree or risk, strengths, weaknesses & repayment capacity in the practice of extending or renewing credit to clients. Recommending credit worthiness and repayment capacity to loan officers and committee members.

Assist in filling out loan applications and analysis of loan request summaries, credit memo’s and submitting these to officers and committees for approval.

Collection and compilation of various supporting documentation required to make credit decisions

Advisor (non-voting member) to Loan Committee, making recommendations on creditworthiness, loan structure, and financial analysis.

Other skills required
  • Diligence- ability to pay great attention to detail and readily identify potential errors
  • Quantitative Analysis- ability to decipher accuracy of rational financial ratios, and comprehension of the impact of those results on the customer and institution.
  • Written and Oral Communication Skills- ability to effectively disseminate decisions to lending staff and Sr. Management.
  • Prioritizing and Multitasking- ability to organize and prioritize different tasks and/or projects with effectiveness, in order for the loan underwriting to make timely credit decisions.
  • Experience with Financial Software- familiarity or comfort with learning financial software such as Excel, Web Equity, or similar financial software for everyday use and management.

This position may be eligible for advancement into or in conjunction with the underwriting manager position or lending position at a future date.
