Associate Banker

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects, identifying their needs and providing advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that best serve their interests.
• Collaborate with BMO partners to create and grow customer relationships, leveraging referral opportunities and marketing promotions.
• Guide customers through digital and self‑serve options, ensuring a seamless experience from lobby entry to transaction completion.
• Conduct client conversations about banking services, recommend alternative banking channels, and provide personal banking and investment advice.
• Engage customers in needs‑based conversations to identify potential opportunities for everyday banking plans and credit card needs.
• Support operational activities such as inventory management, escalated service requests, and follow‑up on customer applications.
• Act as a key member of a collaborative, versatile branch and market team, contributing to the ongoing improvement of overall customer experience.
• Follow risk and compliance processes to safeguard customer assets and privacy, and report suspicious activity related to money laundering.
• Analyze issues, determine next steps, and appropriately elevate concerns while applying the Risk Management Framework.

• Typically 1–2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In Canada: registration to sell investment products completed or in progress (within 12 months), as required by jurisdiction.
• Proficient in social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools and applications.
• Experience in consultative customer‑service or sales roles with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience.
• Basic knowledge of specialized sales and business banking solutions for referral to specialists.
• Strong interpersonal, listening, and problem‑solving skills, with a passion for helping customers and a focus on results.
• Self‑starter who approaches customers with confidence, is collaborative, and can work in multiple capacities as part of a team.
• Good verbal and written communication, organization, collaboration, and analytical skills.

Salary: $41,714.00 – $49,000.00 (salaried). The amount may vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications, and may include a commission structure. Part‑time roles will be pro‑rated on a per‑hour basis.
