Controller II – Prepared Foods Division

At Tyson Foods, we believe that our team members are the heart of our success. Join our team as a Controller in the Prepared Foods Division.

The Controller II will be responsible for the financial planning, analysis and reporting functions of the plant‑manufacturing unit. This role will manage the plant accounting staff, oversee cost accounting, payroll, forecasting, budgeting, and support a range of operational initiatives. The individual will also lead SOX compliance and audit coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage cost accounting and financial analysis systems, ensuring accuracy in product, production costs and manufacturing variances.
  • Oversee formal and informal financial accounting and payroll systems, including payroll administration and internal controls.
  • Provide direction for internal and external financial reporting and forecasting, and supervise reporting and analysis of plant performance, production, and inventory functions.
  • Support new product development and cost‑reduction efforts through financial analysis and cost estimates.
  • Maintain and develop business relationships with headquarters personnel, maintenance, operations and engineering.
  • Provide credible financial analysis to support plant operations and support LEAN and safety initiatives as appropriate.
  • Lead the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan, Long‑Range Plan and other performance projections, and develop key controls for SOX compliance.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CMA, MBA and/or CPA would be a plus.
  • Experience:

    6+ years of accounting management experience; highly preferred in a manufacturing environment with experience in standard cost and variance reporting.
  • Communication:
    Excellent communication, organization and problem‑solving skills.
  • Computer:
    Strong PC skills (SAP, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
  • Technical:
    Knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, fixed assets, general ledger accounting, payroll and SOX.
  • Business acumen:
    Understanding of procurement, production and finished‑good delivery interdependencies and their impact on profitability.
  • Leadership:
    Strong leadership of team members and critical thinking skills.
  • Must reside in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
