Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position requires a working knowledge of maintenance needs for a multi-unit building including electrical, plumbing, and AC experience. Applicant must be able to communicate clearly and follow verbal and written instructions. Pay is commensurate with years of experience.

SHIFT AVAILABILITY:

• Monday - Friday 8 a.m.
  
  - 5 p.m.
• On-call as needed

POSITION DUTIES:

• Ability to make minor repairs as needed.
• Ability to do painting and simple carpentry repairs.
• Ability to sweep and/or shovel walks in wintery weather conditions for employee and resident safety.
• Ability to care for tools and keep maintenance closets clean and orderly.
• Ability to communicate to Supervisor about needed repairs.
• Ability to perform tasks with due consideration for facility residents, visitors and staff in area.
• Ability to keep work area clean and orderly.
• Ability to perform routine repetitive tasks despite frequent interruptions.
• Ability to work and cooperate well with other employees.
• Ability to work under close supervision.
• Ability to safely operate various machinery and equipment.
• Ability to safely use required hand tools.
• Ability to perform other related duties as directed by Supervisor.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of high school diploma
• Must be be to work flexible hours
• Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately.

PHYSICAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds
• Ability to lift, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull loads required
• Must be able to walk approximately four miles daily
