Senior Director, Forensic Services Division About The Position
The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is looking for a dynamic executive leader to establish and oversee the Forensic Services Division, who is responsible for providing forensic competency restoration services to our state’s most vulnerable population. Reporting to the agency Commissioner, the Senior Director of the Forensic Services Division will be responsible for the entirety of the delivery of adult forensic services for the State of Oklahoma.
This includes competency to stand trial evaluations, competency restoration, oversight and management of applicable legal requirements, and treatment quality assurance. This position will be responsible for development and implementation of division policy and practices to ensure timely completion of competency evaluation and restoration treatment services and monitoring operations to meet timeliness standards required by the courts, state law, and the Consent Decree.

- Strong executive level experience providing oversight and coordination of adult forensic evaluation services on a wide scale
- Ability to navigate and leverage existing relationships with stakeholders while seeking new partnerships to strengthen the forensic competency evaluation process across the state
- Successful experience providing strategic guidance and decision making with long-term impact in changing business and political environments
- Demonstrated ability to assess organizational needs and to develop and implement continuous process improvement measures and activities to meet those needs
- Doctoral degree in psychology, board certification in psychiatry, or other relevant advanced degree such as public administration or business administration
- Five (5) years of experience in a forensic mental health organization with successful performance at increasingly challenging levels
- Large-scale budget oversight and three years of management experience of complex systems
