Position Summary
Work in a manufacturing laboratory setting using mammalian cell culture practices and techniques. Understand, follow, and complete process documentation in support of GMP. Understand and follow safety policies as it relates to biological and chemical components and equipment to protect personnel and maintain product quality.
Hours:
1st Shift, 7:15am – 3:45pm. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.
- Perform processes and operate equipment required for production of bulk viral antigen.
- Apply good cell culture practices for viral and antibody production.
- Operate downstream processing equipment for production bulk fluids (e.g., tangential flow filtration, hollow‑fiber filtration, sterile filtration).
- Identify mechanical problems and maintain equipment using knowledge of bioreactors/fer mentors and supporting equipment.
- Understand, follow, and complete process documentation in support of GMP.
- Follow safety policies related to biological and chemical components and equipment to protect personnel and maintain product quality.
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- BS in Biological Sciences preferred.
- Preference given to applicants with relevant experience in biological production and/or aseptic manufacturing.
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Mammalian cell culture practices and techniques desirable.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and computer skills; working knowledge of the metric system.
- Fundamental understanding of bioreactors/fer mentors desirable.
Position Requirements
- Exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, noise, live steam, temperature fluctuations, and biohazards.
- Continuous standing and lifting up to 50lb.
