Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment.
Issue tools and equipment and maintain records of tools and equipment issued and returned.
Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
Maintains records of tool and supply usage manually and by computer.
Initiates purchase requisitions and orders as necessary including contacting vendors for quotes, prices and to discuss products.
Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions back to replenish inventory.
Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
Delivers tools or equipment to employees.
Marks and identifies tools and equipment.
Performs other related duties as required.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees or organizations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must have a working knowledge of tools, production machinery and blueprints. Experience with computerized record keeping is desired.
