POSITION SUMMARY

This Night Shift Registered Nurse position in the Med Surg department provides comprehensive care to patients with various disease states, with cross-training opportunities in Med Surg and Women's and Infant Services (WIS). The role involves assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of nursing care in accordance with professional standards.

CORE FUNCTIONS

Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical, confirms completion within timeframe, and reviews information from other team members.

Formulates a plan of care, including discharge plans, based on assessment data and collaboration with the patient, family and multidisciplinary team.

Implements the care plan through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the healthcare team, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Evaluates the patient’s and family’s response to care and teaching, revises the plan of care, and evaluates patient progress toward goals.

Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record, keeping documentation legible, timely and consistent with policy.

Provides care based on the best evidence, and may participate in research activities and facility shared leadership.

Interacts with staff, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, providing support across settings and synergizing data for patient and family care.

Contributes to professional quality improvement activities and participates in professional organizations.

May supervise staff and manage workflow in the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, or valid temporary/interim/compact RN license.
BLS certification required.
Experience in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.
Additional education, certifications or continuing education as required for the area of practice.
For home health roles: valid driver’s license, active auto insurance and coverage.
Behavioral Health positions in Arizona:
Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Arizona Criminal History Affidavit at hire and throughout employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
Professional certification preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Estimated Pay Range

$35.43 - $59.05 per hour. Compensation is determined at offer based on experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
