About The OpportunityAs the Birthplace Nurse Director
, you’ll direct and supervise nursing personnel, ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, and collaborate with the Chief Nurse Executive on budgeting, marketing, and departmental performance. You’ll lead with integrity, foster a culture of safety, and support the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and providing appropriate staffing based on departmental demand using tools to measure, track, and report processes Measured through productivity and management documentation
- Prioritizing employee safety and ensuring compliance with OSHA, Infection Control, and Environment of Care standards; providing staff training Measured through safety rounds, staff knowledge, and workers’ compensation trends
- Ensuring timely completion of interviews and adherence to St. Mary’s hiring procedures Measured by vacancy rate and time‑to‑fill
- Providing timely feedback to new hires through 90‑day evaluations and completing annual performance reviews Measured by 100% on‑time completion
- Assessing staff educational needs and developing structures to enhance knowledge, skills, and competencies Measured through competency documentation and education plans
