Sales Route Driver

Core Requirements

• Minimum Age: 21
• Class B CDL required

Past route sales experience and a good driving record will be beneficial.

• Drive truck over established route to deliver and sell products or render services of Prairie Farms Dairy to customers’ places of business.
• Follow all Department of Transportation regulations.
• Possibly collect money from customers, make change, and record transactions on customer receipt.
• Write customer orders and instructions; record sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery record.
• Call on prospective customers to solicit new business; prepare order forms and sales contracts; inform regular customers of new products or services; and listen to and resolve service complaints.

• Possibly be required to climb, crawl, and walk in an upright as well as a bent position to facilitate the following:
• Load and unload product at destination.
• Place stock on shelves or racks.
• Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays.
• Issue sales promotion materials to customers.
• Collect or pick up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
• Stack and unstack items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually, and drag stacks of milk throughout the shift.
• Load and unload truck and carry merchandise.
• Work in very hot (100+°F) and very cool (less than 32°F) environments throughout the year.

The successful candidate must keep the inside of the truck clean, perform routine maintenance on the truck, and work and drive in a safe, courteous and efficient manner.
