Overview
Forklift Operator – B Shift $19.15 per hour
The role involves loading, unloading, and processing products in the warehouse using a motor‑powered forklift. All Team Members must follow safety standards, policies, and procedures. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as boot reimbursement, hearing protection, and a freezer suit will be provided after the probationary period.
- Operate forklifts, including stand‑up Crown PIT Forklifts, reach trucks, and possibly a cherry picker, to move products through the facility.
- Use handheld scanners to track product movement and complete required paperwork.
- Work a 12‑hour shift, standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds at times.
- Follow all Tyson policies and safety guidelines during all operations.
- Perform additional job duties as needed based on the role (receiver, put away, replenisher, picker, loader).
- Receiver – Receive product accurately into the building using PIT.
- Put Away – Move received product into racking; may palletize or split pallets.
- Replenisher – Pull pallets from racking to fill pick faces.
- Picker – Pick products in single or full palletized form to build customer orders.
- Loader – Load trucks efficiently to avoid product damage or loss.
Work will be conducted in damp and cold environments with temperatures ranging from
-5 to 30°F. PPE will include a freezer suit, hearing protection, gloves, and headwear. Boots must meet ANSI 75lbs or higher PSI rating with a slip‑resistant sole covering the ankles.
- Full range of motion for arms, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, digits, and legs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Willingness and ability to perform tasks involving bending, squatting, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40pounds.
- Must pass post‑offer health assessment and drug screening.
- Cold storage experience preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and writing, completing on‑the‑job paperwork, and communicating across management levels.
- Ability to work with corrective lenses if needed; additional hearing protection may be provided.
