This position oversees engineering project management across all plant areas, including buildings, grounds, production equipment, electrical systems, and control systems. The Engineering Manager will also drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and maintenance performance. This role requires occasional availability during nights and weekends to support critical equipment issues and plant operations
Key Responsibilities- Support daily plant operations, production, and maintenance activities to ensure reliable process performance.
- Develop, manage, and execute capital improvement projects in collaboration with Operations and Maintenance teams.
- Maintain and update a 3+ year capital improvement roadmap.
- Drive process optimization initiatives using Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Support maintenance and reliability efforts through equipment upgrades and performance improvements.
- Manage maintenance budgets, including forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor expenditures, approve requisitions and invoices, and obtain vendor quotes.
- Coordinate technical training focused on equipment reliability and plant safety.
- Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
- Maintain engineering documentation including equipment drawings, fire protection systems, and insurance compliance requirements.
- Ensure Management of Change (MOC) procedures are followed for equipment and process modifications.
- Coordinate equipment BOM updates and system changes with maintenance teams.
- Plan and oversee required internal and external tank inspections.
- Foster strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork across plant departments.
- Travel up to 10% as needed.
- Master’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong leadership skills with a servant-leader mindset and collaborative approach.
- Experience with data analysis, statistical methods, and process improvement tools such as Six Sigma.
- Ability to obtain Six Sigma certification if not already certified.
- Strong computer proficiency, including CAD software.
- Hands‑on experience with PLC programming and HMI controls.
- Ability to design, develop, and implement machine/process controls in Siemens and Allen‑Bradley environments.
- Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and thermodynamics.
