Hazwoper Technician - Level 1

This Technician role supports daily operations, including emergency response, equipment cleaning, inventory management, and industrial tank cleaning. The work may be physically demanding and involve hazardous materials.

• Handling various hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• Performing industrial work and biohazard cleanups
• Staging, profiling, and processing waste for disposal
• Assisting in removal of soil, debris, and cleanup of spill sites
• Operating and cleaning equipment
• Maintaining logs of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Travel up to 25% as required; location may vary
• Other duties as assigned

• Regularly required to talk and hear
• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times
• Frequent lifting or moving items up to 60 pounds
• Frequent stair and ladder climbing; occasional heights
• Ability to wear personal equipment, including respiratory protection
• Work in both office setting and physical job sites
• Ability to work in confined spaces when needed
• Must be clean shaven when working around hazardous waste to ensure a proper respirator seal

• HAZWOPER and Confined Space certifications preferred
• Ability to read, write, and do mathematics
• Class C (Texas) or equivalent required
• Level 1 technicians will obtain and maintain certifications: HAZWOPER 40, OSHA 10 and 30, MSHA, CSE/R, CPR, H2S, First Aid
