Chemical Project Engineer
Salary: $100,000-$120,000 / year+ 10% bonus

Ennis, TX

- Lead multiple capital projects from initial scope development through design, construction, commissioning, and startup.
- Develop project scopes, engineering packages, budgets, schedules, and cost estimates while identifying technical risks and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate engineering design to ensure projects meet operability, maintainability, safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.
- Manage contractors, vendors, and construction activities while ensuring projects remain on budget and on schedule.
- Develop commissioning, startup, and turnover documentation for completed projects.
- Prepare engineering documentation including equipment specifications, P&IDs, drawings, calculations, and project reports.
- Lead Management of Change (MOC) activities and support PSM, PHA and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and EHS to improve plant reliability, reduce utility costs, and ensure environmental compliance.
- Participate in incident investigations, continuous improvement initiatives, and Lean manufacturing projects.
- Communicate project status, budgets, schedules, and technical updates to plant leadership and corporate stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5-10 years of project engineering experience within the chemical, petrochemical, refining, or process manufacturing industries.
- Proven experience managing capital projects from design through startup.
- Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management, PHA, PSSR, and industrial safety standards.
- Experience with PLC and DCS control systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software;
AutoCAD experience is a plus. - Excellent project management, organizational, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
