Job SummaryThe primary function is to provide spiritual care in the home to terminally ill patients and their families. To provide an assessment of the patient’s and family’s spiritual needs and to provide counseling to meet those needs. Makes reasonable efforts to facilitate visits by local clergy, pastoral counselors, or other individuals who can support the patient’s spiritual needs. Participates as a core member of the Interdisciplinary Group.

Master of Divinity, preferred. - Licensure

Per state guidelines, if any. - Experience
:
One (1) year of experience as a Chaplain in a health care institution preferred. - Skills
:
Working knowledge of community, spiritual, and other resources. Good interpersonal skills. - Transportation
:
Reliable transportation. Current auto liability insurance and driver's license if the personal vehicle is used for work.
- Works in patient homes and other healthcare facilities under various conditions.
- Occasional exposure to infectious diseases; ability to travel locally; may have some exposure to unpleasant weather.
Prolonged standing, walking, and sitting required; requires working under occasionally stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient/family needs, must be able to make quick decisions, function as a facilitator to meet patient/family spiritual needs.
