Position: Electro-Mechanical Reliability Technician (Industrial Plant)

Job Description

A night on the floor: keeping production moving

Step onto the floor at 6:00 PM and take charge of plant reliability. You will own preventive maintenance (PMs), jump on reactive repairs, and keep critical equipment performing at peak so production never skips a beat. As the go-to resource for multi-craft issues, you will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, close out CMMS work orders, and partner with production to keep operations safe and steady.

As an Industrial Maintenance Technician II, you will manage PM schedules, diagnose and repair equipment, and maintain spare parts to maximize uptime. You will collaborate with production staff, loop in Electrical Engineering when needed, and contribute to continuous improvement and safety initiatives across the plant.

Schedule and pay
  • Rotating night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (2-2-3 rotation)
  • Pay range (Tech II): $27.40–$35.25 per hour plus overtime
  • Flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, weekends as required, with on‑call support
What you will tackle
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery and controls including AC/DC motors and drives, servo systems, chillers, downstream equipment, and support systems.
  • Execute preventive maintenance and complete PM/repair work orders in the CMMS on time and in compliance.
  • Serve as first responder to machine issues and coordinate with Electrical Engineering for escalations.
  • Specify, source, and order replacement parts and control components.
  • Support daily management priorities and plant initiatives.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement projects to enhance throughput and safety.
  • Partner with production teams to ensure safe, reliable equipment operation.
Core knowledge and skills
  • Use of electrical test tools: voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, megger, etc.
  • Understanding of machine functions and sequence of operations in manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79.
  • Strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout procedures, arc flash practices, and PPE requirements.
  • Strength in electrical formulas and mechanical math.
  • Experience with 3‑phase industrial wiring and power distribution.
  • Hands‑on with AC, DC, and servo drives/motors; motion setup and tuning.
  • PLC I/O and networking troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Education and experience
  • High school or vocational diploma (required).
  • Technical exposure to electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics (preferred).
  • 2+ years in industrial maintenance with electrical systems and controls.
  • Foundational training with PLCs and drives.
  • Plastics process experience is a plus.
