What You Will Do
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for scheduling preventive and regular maintenance with minimal interruption to production operations. This role is the principal contact and liaison between maintenance, production and other supporting departments in relation to determining the timing for execution of planned maintenance work. The position works to ensure that Production units balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance practices.
The role is also responsible for effectively providing direction, plan, schedule, and prioritize work orders by allocating resources and managing multiple tasks.
- Organize and coordinate the Maintenance Department to repair and maintain the equipment in a cost-effective manner which promotes optimal production and operating efficiency.
- Help identify repetitive problems, troubleshoot equipment and develop and implement solutions.
- Oversee condition-based monitoring to predict required maintenance before failure occurs.
- Coordinate investigations of critical failures and report findings.
- Estimate, plan, schedule and analyze plant maintenance work.
- Prioritize and enter work orders.
- Assign work orders to specific departments.
- Develop weekly repair schedules for the Maintenance Department.
- Develop short shutdown repair schedules.
- Prepare and document preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment.
- Maintain and maximize the utilization of the CMMS system.
- Ensure accurate information on work orders, what work is required, and what work was done for proper planning and accurate historical records.
- In-depth knowledge of packing and filling equipment.
- Demonstrated organization and delegation ability.
- Ability to organize and lead a team.
- Ability to physically inspect plant properties where climbing steps, ladders and physical exertion is a primary responsibility.
- Ability to effectively create and implement a maintenance plan.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in plant maintenance, food industry strongly preferred.
