Audit plant personnel and procedures to ensure compliance with raw material, finished product and packaging specifications. Assist, coach, train and support other departments and personnel as needed.
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure that Production personnel are testing finished product and recording results in compliance with requirements.
- Ensure that Production personnel are properly packaging products in compliance with requirements.
- Ensure that Blending personnel are testing and recording results in compliance with requirements.
- Ensure that Production personnel scrap on shift or put on hold non-conforming material.
- All occurrences of product put on hold by Production and QA will be designated as such, recorded on NC Tracker and reported on a monthly basis for trending.
- Investigate in-process quality problems and initiate a CAR (Corrective Action Request) if needed.
- Conduct warehouse audits and initiate a CAR (Corrective Action Request) if needed.
- Will perform as an internal auditor by ensuring compliance with specifications and procedures and initiate a CAR (Corrective Action Request) if needed.
- Use of micrometers, calipers, tape measures, 1' rules and all raw material and finished goods lab equipment.
- Maintain accurate databases as needed.
- Will conduct testing and/or measurements and record results in Statistical Database accurately and as needed.
- Assist in the development of work instructions and forms as requested.
- Will train new employees as needed.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
Experience and/or educational requirements:
- High School Diploma desired, additional education desired.
- Experience in quality control position is desirable.
- Experience in plastics extrusion industry is desirable.
- Basic computer literacy required. Use of Excel is required.
- Light lifting required up to 30 pounds.
