Position Summary
The Blending Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring blending equipment used to produce high-quality vinyl compounds. This role requires attention to detail, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do- Safely operate mixers and blending equipment according to production formulas.
- Weigh and measure raw materials to ensure product quality.
- Load ingredients into automated blending systems.
- Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment (certification provided/required).
- Monitor production, complete productivity and downtime reports.
- Perform quality checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Load and unload railcars and trucks while following all safety procedures.
- Maintain FIFO inventory practices.
- Keep the blending area, silos, docks, and work areas clean and organized.
- Support Maintenance by identifying equipment issues and submitting work orders.
- Assist other departments when needed.
- Read and respond to company emails and production communications.
- Follow all safety policies, standard work procedures, and quality requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forklift experience preferred
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Plastics extrusion or vinyl siding experience is a plus
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel)
- Basic math skills (fractions, percentages, measurements)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights up to 70 feet
- Dependable, flexible, and motivated to learn
