Summary of FunctionsAudit plant personnel and procedures to ensure compliance with raw material, finished product, and packaging specifications. Assist, coach, train, and support other departments and personnel as needed.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure Production personnel are testing finished product and recording results in compliance with requirements.
- Ensure Production personnel are properly packaging products in compliance with requirements.
- Ensure Blending personnel are testing and recording results in compliance with requirements.
- Ensure Production personnel scrap on shift or put on hold non-conforming material.
- All occurrences of product put on hold by Production and QA are designated as such, recorded on NC Tracker, and reported on a monthly basis for trending.
- Investigate in-process quality problems and initiate a Corrective Action Request (CAR) if needed.
- Conduct warehouse audits and initiate a CAR if needed.
- Perform as an internal auditor by ensuring compliance with specifications and procedures and initiate a CAR if needed.
- Use of micrometers, calipers, tape measures, 1’ rules, and all raw material and finished goods lab equipment.
- Maintain accurate databases as needed.
- Conduct testing and/or measurements and record results in Statistical Database accurately and as needed.
- Assist in the development of work instructions and forms as requested.
- Train new employees as needed.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
- High School Diploma desired; additional education desired.
- Experience in a quality control position is desirable.
- Experience in the plastics extrusion industry is desirable.
- Basic computer literacy required; use of Excel is required.
- Light lifting up to 30 pounds required.
