VC Internship @ Cottonwood Fund

Who we are

Cottonwood Technology Fund is a venture capital fund with offices in the Netherlands and the USA. We invest in seed and early-stage deeptech startups based in Northwest Europe and Southwest USA. We have a special interest in photonics & electronics, advanced materials, medical-tech, climate-tech, advanced manufacturing & robotics. We invest €1-2 million per startup in the first round. Cottonwood is recognized as one-of-the-best performing funds worldwide.

We are looking for interns with a technical background for our Dutch office, situated on the innovation campus of the University of Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands.

• Scouting seed stage investment opportunities with priority on the Netherlands
• Support in pre-screening and analyzing pitch decks and business plans
• Analyzing market trends, collecting market figures and support in in-depth competitor analysis
• Support and prepare investment memorandums
• Support on fund reporting and fund presentation and investor communication
• Assisting in the daily management of our portfolio companies
• Support in fund presentations and pitch decks for follow-on rounds
• Attend incubators, startup conferences and other networking events

• Gaining practical skills and knowledge in venture capital

• Personalized reference based on the quality of your work.

• University background in Engineering or Technology, with a financial / business interest.
• Preferably Dutch as native language since we have a priority on Dutch seed deals in the coming period. And fluent in English.
• Strong analytical and communication skills and expert in PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ambitious, reliable, committed and self-motivated.
• Ability to work independently.
• Passionate about science based hardware innovative technologies, startups, investing and entrepreneurship.

The minimum length of an internship is 4 months, but preferable 6-8 months because we want your contribution to be meaningful. The start and end dates are flexible and to be agreed upon. To tailor to your needs, the internship can be either full-time.

The remuneration for the internship depends on the number of hours you work for Cottonwood (full-time or part-time).
