Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (I&E) - Enterprise AL Complex

Role Overview

The Instrumentation & Electrical Specialist is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical and control systems throughout the facility. This role supports efficient production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, implementing preventive maintenance practices, and advancing control system capabilities. The Specialist will also serve as a technical resource for training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems and equipment across the facility.
  • Perform and support preventive maintenance (PM) procedures on electrical and control systems.
  • Supervises, trains, and develops sanitation employees, fostering a skilled and engaged team.
  • Assist in the design, installation, and implementation of new control systems and upgrades.
  • Research and develop improved electrical controls and automation processes to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Track, analyze, and resolve recurring electrical issues through root cause identification and corrective actions.
  • Identify equipment weaknesses related to electrical systems and recommend effective solutions.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of electrical systems and controls to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Train operators and maintenance technicians on equipment functionality, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure uninterrupted and efficient production.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education or Experience
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED; any and all other electrical certifications to include technical college and/or manufacturing certifications. i.e. Allen Bradley, Square D, etc.
  • Experience: Industrial electrical experience required; prefer 2–4 years of documented experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment; industrial electrical experience, extensive schematic reading capability, PLC coding/troubleshooting.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams; experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical control systems, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Effective communication skills for training and cross‑functional collaboration and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • The selection process is based on a panel interview, a series of standardized and/or hands‑on testing issued by the company/third‑party testing facility. This is a progressionary position; level 3 must be achieved by 18 months from start date.
