Enumclaw School District is seeking a detail and service oriented payroll professional to serve on the Business Office’s team of two payroll officers. This position reports to the Director of Business and Fiscal Supervisor, and works in collaboration with the Human Relations team. The Payroll Officer is responsible for accurately preparing and entering the district’s monthly payroll and payroll related documents.
This position requires knowledge in the areas of S-275, budgeting, retirement and benefits, classified and certificated staffing, and other payroll related duties.
Process monthly payroll for Enumclaw School District employees in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, contract requirements, and district policies.
Maintain and update employee payroll records including rates of pay, new enrollments, deductions, direct deposits, authorizations, retirement and benefit data.
Ensure timesheets, absentee records, and other on‑going input for payroll are collected, verified, and posted timely and accurately.
Reporting & ComplianceAssist with reporting requirements for the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security, Washington Department of Labor and Industries, Puget Sound Worker’s Compensation Trust, Department of Retirement Systems, and other agencies. Process documentation to maintain compliance with child support agencies, and district sources regarding payroll wage garnishments and levies.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for state and government agencies as required by law.
Provide a variety of required internal and external reports to the Business Office.
Analysis & SupportPerform regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Review and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner, research and analyze district and peer payroll records for bargaining and budgeting purposes.
