Value Stream Team Leader (Production Supervisor) – 1st Shift

- Lead the operation of one or more plant value streams, implementing the Parker Lean system and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a qualified workforce, and reduce operating costs, inventories, and lead times through continuous improvements.
- Oversee day‑to‑day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance expectations.
- Meet with Value Stream associates regularly, reflecting on problems, solutions, and challenges to create a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead value stream(s) in daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives, including supply chain, production control, manufacturing priorities, and coordination among all shifts.
- Assist the Value Stream Manager in establishing continuous product flow, utilizing pull systems, and leveling workloads.
- Ensure standardized work and processes are followed, implement needed adjustments, and maintain compliance with safety and 5S requirements.
- Instill and maintain a positive team atmosphere by holding regular team meetings, assigning tasks, and coordinating support activities across departments.
- Utilize PDCA in conjunction with Tracking Centers and Team Improvement Boards to achieve results.
- Provide effective cross‑training for Value Stream associates and backups from other value streams to maintain smooth operation of the value stream.
- Encourage the team to stop and fix problems to achieve quality right the first time.
- Work with the Value Stream Manager to develop the future‑state value stream map and manage the plans to achieve it, as documented in the Tracking Center.
- Maintain Team Improvement Boards and develop a visual control environment to ensure no problems are hidden.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 1–2 years of management or supervisory experience.
- Background in accounting, PC skills, manufacturing, human resource management, and inventory control.
- Demonstrated teamwork and team‑building skills; ability to assess, develop, and maintain individual and team capabilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with LEAN teams or leading LEAN teams is preferred.
- Ability to promote safety, new ideas, and positive change within the team.
- Must meet U.S. export compliance and U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
