The Bartender at Crystal Mountain helps create a welcoming guest experience at Washington's premier mountain resort by delivering exceptional service, preparing and serving beverages responsibly, and maintaining a clean, organized bar environment in a fast‑paced summer operations setting. This role requires strong communication skills, prior bartending experience, and the ability to thrive during busy weekends, holidays, and outdoor mountain operations while representing Crystal Mountain with professionalism and hospitality.
EssentialDuties
- Set up for daily service including dishware, glassware, silverware, linens, and other amenities according to daily procedures and the Restaurant General Manager's direction.
- Serve alcohol within the laws of the Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board and Washington State Health Department.
- Clean equipment and serving utensils, as well as maintain clean tables and server stations.
- Stock inventory and supplies as appropriate.
- Establish pre‑function side work to be performed and ensure all equipment is accounted for and in good condition, notifying the Restaurant General Manager of any issues.
- Use and understand Points of Sale and accurately record sales.
- Know the menu that is to be served and be able to explain the major ingredients, preparation methods for each item, and pairings as appropriate.
- Promote and maintain the highest level of customer service to all guests by anticipating their needs.
- Determine when a guest should not be served additional alcoholic beverages in accordance with Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board regulations.
- Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refer the matter to management.
- Protect the organization, team members and guests by adhering to all safety, sanitation, and alcohol beverage control policies; including but not limited to Washington State Health, Liquor Department regulations, and the Center for Disease Control.
- Develop and maintain an organizational culture, values and reputation with staff and guests.
- Ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant, and cooperative work environment.
- Act as a representative of Crystal Mountain with guests & community members.
- Abide by all Crystal Mountain employment guidelines.
- Must hold a valid M.A.S.T. Class 12 or 13 Permit (Washington state serving license)
- Must hold a valid Washington Food Worker Card (Health & Food Safety)
- Minimum 2 years of professional bartending experience
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Basic knowledge of P.O.S. systems
- This position may be scheduled to work in the evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Able to maneuver and tap a full‑size keg of beer (~160 pounds)
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
- Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices, and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
- The ability to work for extended periods of time standing, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
- Some shifts will be outdoors.
