As our Security Officer, you will monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors.
Every day you will monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises. Your security detail could include guarding facility and unit access points, monitoring surveillance cameras, testing new security technology, and protecting all employees/visitors against acts of violence should they arise.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need the ability to remain calm and take action based on the situation, known facts, and understand the position limitations. You are also expected to respond to emergency codes in a timely manner. Previous experience in security/patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Responsibilities- Monitor buildings and grounds to ensure safety and security of employees, patients, and visitors.
- Walk or drive around the premises daily.
- Guard facilities and unit access points, monitor surveillance cameras, and test new security technology.
- Respond to emergency codes in a timely manner and remain calm in crisis situations.
- Provide protection of property and mitigate criminal activity through visible deterrents; conduct proactive patrolling to VMFH buildings, parking structures, and grounds throughout the shift.
- Identify, report, and follow up on security and building maintenance concerns; report safety and other discrepancies as observed.
- Respond to activation/deactivation of alarm systems and emergent incidents; evaluate circumstances and implement emergency procedures.
- Operate equipment including cellular/radio communications, electronic security systems, fire command systems, self-defense weapons, and CCTV surveillance equipment.
- Check doors to ensure they are secured and report vandalism or equipment malfunction to management.
- Make determinations about access to secured areas, deny individuals access when necessary, remove individuals from the property, and contact law enforcement authorities as needed.
- Six months of related experience in security, healthcare, or related law enforcement/military demonstrating requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Driver’s License: WA, upon hire.
- Basic Life Support - CPR within 90 days.
$24.15 - $34.12 /hour
