Senior Accountant

A client of ours is looking a Senior Accountant for a contract role to support core accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This role will play a key part in managing purchase accounting, month-end close processes, and technical accounting matters, including SEC reporting requirements. This position will support essential accounting functions, strengthen financial reporting accuracy, and help maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage close activities and reporting deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of Senior Accountant

+ Perform purchase accounting analysis for acquisitions and business combinations

+ Lead and execute month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting

+ Research, interpret, and apply technical accounting guidance (US GAAP)

+ Support SEC reporting, including preparation of financial statements and disclosures

+ Review account reconciliations and ensure compliance with internal controls

+ Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting and reporting matters.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Senior Accountant

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

+ CPA or CPA candidate preferred

+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with purchase accounting

+ Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting

+

Experience with SEC reporting requirements

+ Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel skills

+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
