Commercial Estimator

Location:

Ephrata, PA (Onsite) Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 Position Overview The Estimator will lead and manage the estimating and preconstruction efforts for commercial, industrial, retail, hospitality and ground-up projects. This role is responsible for delivering accurate, competitive bids and proposals, developing budgets and cost models, coordinating take-offs and pre-bid activities, and collaborating closely with project teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full estimating process across multiple projects: take-offs, cost coding, bid prep
  • Estimating commercial/industrial/retail/hospitality/ground-up projects ($10-50 million)
  • Interpret drawings/specs to develop accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates
  • Prepare and submit bids/proposals on schedule, ensuring competitiveness and compliance
  • Develop budgets, cost models, and value-engineering options during preconstruction
  • Coordinate with PMs, designers, and subcontractors on pricing and scope
  • Manage and mentor estimators/drafters; maintain quality control
  • Maintain cost databases, cost codes, and estimating templates
  • Lead pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid reviews; negotiate subcontractor pricing
  • Produce reports/documentation using MS Office and estimating software

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years progressive estimating experience across commercial/industrial/retail/hospitality/ground-up projects
  • Proven track record with bids, proposals, and take-offs
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, drawing interpretation, and cost coding
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiar with estimating/takeoff software
