Drafter III – Design the Homes Where Families Build Their Futures
Take blueprints beyond paper and help bring dream homes to life.
We're looking for an experienced Drafter III to join our homebuilding team. In this role, you'll transform concepts into detailed construction-ready plans that help create beautiful, high-quality homes for our customers. If you're passionate about residential design, enjoy collaborating with architects and construction teams, and have an eye for detail, we'd love to meet you.
Please note, this is not a remote role.
Essential Functions
- Prepares construction plan from standard plans; sketches and written specifications, including details and sections
- Develop and produce architectural plans for Townhomes and Duplexes, including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
- Conduct interdepartmental plan reviews to ensure alignment and address any potential issues.
- Revise plans per management review comments and change orders
- Coordinate and review truss and beam designs with outside vendors.
- Maintains and revises standard plan portfolio.
- Reviews plans for compliance with community and municipal requirements.
- Reviews plans for compliance with Landmark Homes drafting standards.
- Coordinates review and sealing of construction plan with engineer.
- Performs all other duties as required by the Drafting Manager.
Competencies
- CAD (computer aided drafting) and/or Residential Architectural related post-secondary Associate's Degree.
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office and drafting software.
- 5-8 years of residential related experience
- Ability to communicate clearly in both written and oral format.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to self-manage.
