Intermediate/Middle School Theater Director

The Ephrata Area School District is seeking a Intermediate/Middle School Theater Director to coordinate, organize, and administer the EIMS theater program. This position oversees all aspects of the annual Intermediate/Middle school musical and provides students with a comprehensive and engaging theatrical experience.

Program Coordination

* Select a musical and obtain administrative approval.

* Coordinate assistants for sound, lighting, stage management, costumes, sets, ticketing, and related areas.

* Recommend staffing assignments for extracurricular contracts.

* Secure facilities for rehearsals and performances.

* Select one high school student to serve as Student Director.

* Ensure cleanup of stage and performance areas following the final production.

Auditions, Rehearsals & Performances

* Plan and conduct two public performances (Fall and Spring)

* Establish and manage audition procedures and cast selection.

* Schedule, announce, and supervise auditions and rehearsals.

* Organize and oversee student support crews (stage crew, costumes, set construction, etc.).

Financial & Inventory Responsibilities

* Manage all financial transactions through the Student Activities Office in accordance with district procedures.

* Maintain accurate records of receipts, deposits, and expenditures.

* Track and inventory all school-owned theatrical equipment and supplies.

Student Support

* Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding performance progress.

* Inform students of theater-related opportunities and programs.

* Encourage consistent rehearsal habits with family involvement.

Required Education and

Certifications:

Active Pennsylvania Elementary Teaching Certificate required. Applicants must also possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months:
Act 34 - PA Criminal Record;
Act 114 - FBI Background Check;
Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance. The Ephrata Area School District requires a pre-employment drug test, physical and TB test upon offer of employment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is a yearly position per supplemental contract
