Title I Aide
The Ephrata Area School District - Ephrata, PA, is recruiting for the position of part-time Elementary Instructional Aides for our Title I Program. Under the general direction of the building principal, in cooperation with the building Intervention Specialist, the Title I Aide will perform duties necessary to meet the needs of students in the area of Language Arts. Schedule to be determined by Principal.
The Elementary Instructional Aide for Title I will provide support and assistance to students to reinforce skills that have been taught by the teacher. Aides will direct and/or implement lessons and activities as directed by the teacher and provide tutorial support for students, also as directed by the teacher.

Educational Requirement:
Title I paraprofessionals whose duties include instructional support and who were hired after January 8, 2002, must have (1) completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; (2) obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or (3) met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness).
Experience:
Prior experience working with children and the public is desirable.
Language
Skills:
Ability to work and communicate with students, parents & school personnel from diverse backgrounds. Ability to correspond in written format, spell check & use proper English.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to perform basic math calculations is required.
Reasoning
Skills:
Ability to understand and complete oral & written directions. Ability to organize self and others and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
Workplace Expectations:
Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. Must interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members. Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior & speech and dress in a neat, clean, and professional manner. Must follow all District policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority. Must maintain the integrity of confidential information within the Business Office.

Other Requirements:
Applicants must also possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months:
Act 34 - PA Criminal Record;
Act 114 - FBI Background Check;
Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance. The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health.
