Job Description & How to Apply Below

For more than 45 years, New Life Christian School has been shaping students in the Inland Northwest through Christ-centered, classical education. Serving a close-knit community of approximately 125 students across grades K–12, we are dedicated to cultivating wise, thoughtful, and articulate leaders who are firmly rooted in biblical truth.

Our faculty members are far more than instructors; they are mentors and shepherds, guiding students toward both academic excellence and a robust Christian worldview in every discipline.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and mission-driven K-12 Physical Education Teacher. At New Life Christian School, physical education is more than just fitness; it is an opportunity to teach students about the order, beauty, and logic of God's creation through the intentional stewardship of the body.

In this role, you will inspire students to honor God through physical discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and Christ-centered character. As an integral part of our collaborative faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of Christian leaders through a high-quality, purposeful PE program.

Why New Life Christian School?

  • Shape young hearts and minds in a school committed to Christ-centered, classical education.
  • Experience a close-knit, supportive community where faculty, students, and families partner together in learning and discipleship.
  • Teach with purpose and freedom in an environment where biblical truth and academic excellence go hand in hand.
  • Thrive professionally and spiritually with opportunities for mentorship, growth, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
  • Christ-Centered Instruction: Design and implement a comprehensive K–12 physical education curriculum that integrates biblical truth and aligns with classical educational philosophies.
  • Stewardship & Discipline: Teach students to appreciate and care for their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit, fostering lifelong habits of physical health and discipline.
  • Character Development: Cultivate an environment that emphasizes Christ-like character, teamwork, humility, resilience, and respect for others in victory and defeat, teaching and modeling good sportsmanship, perseverance, humility, and respect for others.
  • Mentorship: Actively shepherd, mentor, and build meaningful relationships with students across all grade levels.
  • Community Engagement: Partner with families, faculty, and administration to support the holistic spiritual and academic growth of our student body.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers: Actively participate in faculty meetings, prayer times, and school events, contributing to the school’s mission of nurturing students who love the Lord and are equipped to serve Him.
  • Administrative responsibilities: Complete required paperwork, including progress reports, report cards, grade records, and achievement.
  • Supervise extracurricular activities: Assist with supervising school events, extracurricular activities, and outings as assigned.
Requirements
  • Spiritual Commitment: A clear, vibrant testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and wholehearted agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith.
  • Mission Alignment: A deep commitment to the philosophy of classical Christian education and a heart for the intentional discipleship of students.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; a degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous classroom teaching or athletic coaching experience is preferred.
  • Leadership Traits: The ability to command a gymnasium or field with strong organizational skills, high energy, and excellent safety management.

The position is approximately 12 hours per week (12:00-3:00, Monday through Thursday). The successful candidate is also required to attend monthly all-staff meetings.

If you are a dedicated and passionate educator who desires to make a lasting impact on the next generation of Christian leaders, we invite you to apply to join our team at New Life Christian School.
