Control Systems Engineer (Energy Accounting Specialty)
Grant County PUD is seeking a Control Systems Engineer (Energy Accounting Specialty) to support and maintain the critical systems used to track, validate, and manage energy transactions and operational data across the utility. This individual will support Energy Accounting Systems (EAS), system integrations, databases, and related applications while partnering with operations teams, regional utilities, and energy marketers to ensure data accuracy and system reliability.
The role sits within the Control Systems Engineering group and supports applications including Energy Accounting Systems, SCADA, EMS, data historians, and other utility-critical platforms. Responsibilities include troubleshooting application and data issues, supporting regulatory compliance requirements, maintaining interfaces between systems, executing upgrades and enhancements, and supporting operational technology environments. This is a hybrid-eligible position based in Ephrata, WA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Energy Accounting Systems (EAS) and Water Accounting Systems
- Maintain and enhance operational dashboards, system interfaces, visualizations, and reporting tools
- Provide support for internal and external requests involving energy accounting data
- Coordinate with regional utility companies and energy marketers regarding EIDE communications
- Troubleshoot application, telemetry, communications, and data integrity issues
- Support system upgrades, patches, maintenance activities, and application enhancements
- Support and configure OATI applications including Web Scheduler, Web Trader, Web Smart Tagging , WebSmartOASIS, Web Trans, and WIT
- Develop and maintain documentation, troubleshooting guides, and operating procedures
- Support NERC CIP compliance efforts, change control processes, system failover testing, and audit requirements
- Write and execute SQL queries to support reporting, troubleshooting, and compliance activities
- Analyze network traffic and system communications using tools such as Wireshark
- Partner with EMS, SCADA, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations teams to support utility-critical applications
- Mentor junior team members and support testing, code reviews, and knowledge transfer activities at the Engineer IV level
