Bookkeeper/ Accounting Clerk, Accounting Assistant
An opportunity exists for a Creditors Clerk to join our Finance team.
As the Creditors Clerk you will be responsible for the accurate processing and reconciliation of all documents for payment within the Group.
- 2 - 5 years’ experience within a similar position
- Have a solid and basic understanding of Accounts Payable
- Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Previous ERP System experience for e.g. SAP/PASTEL/ACUMATICA
- Fully bilingual in English & Afrikaans
- The ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheets and word-processing programs at a proficient level.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strict attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a high paced environment.
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
- Maintain Vendor Master Accounts.
- Communicate with internal departments to resolve issues.
- Attend to all communication, e.g. calls and emails, in a professional and timeous manner.
- Perform ad-hoc duties / projects as assigned or as the job requires.
- Perform monthly Cash Flow Projections.
- Ensure that Suppliers are paid within terms.
- Attend monthly meetings with the Accountant.
